Bread bread, not tradition with #TribesADozen! (Review & Giveaway)

I was NOT compensated for this review/giveaway. I received FREE products from Tribes-A-Dozen to review. All thoughts/opinions are my own. Your experience may differ.
Challah bread (or hallah bread, depending on how you spell it) is as much of a part of the Jewish holiday as ham is part of Christmas.

Tribes-A-Dozen offers traditional challah bread mix for those who want to stay true to their heritage or even traditions without having to make it from scratch. Tribes-A-Dozen has Voila! Hallah traditional egg bread mixes that are all natural and made with organic whole grain flour. Their products are even certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union (OU).
Voila! Hallah Traditional can be found on Amazon
So what exactly is challah (or hallah) bread? It is a special Jewish braided bread eaten on Sabbath and holidays. It is usually braided or has at least 3 "bumps", but braided is used more often. Challah has deep spiritual meaning in the Jewish faith, but traditional egg bread is enjoyed in many cultures and embraced by Kosher and non-Kosher households alike. Challah, or egg bread, is perfectly enjoyed on its own, as sandwich bread, or as the ultimate base for French toast or bread pudding.

Tribes-A-Dozen has 3 different egg bread mixes to bake and enjoy: Voilà! Hallah Traditional Egg Bread Mix, Voilà! Hallah Wholey Wheat Egg Bread Mix, and Voilà! Hallah Simply Spelt Egg Bread Mix. Each mix comes with the egg bread mix, 1 packet of yeast, and instructions are included on the back of the box.

The Tribes-A-Dozen also has baking tips available on their website, in case you need a little help!

WHAT I THOUGHT
Because I have a Jewish friend named Jen, I have, thankfully, tried challah bread before. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for the sake of this review), I have never baked challah bread before. This should be interesting!

When I found out I would be trying out Tribes-A-Dozen's Voila! Hallah Egg Bread Mixes, I called Jen in for reinforcement. She should be able to help me bake my first box, right? Since our oven died last month, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try out our new convection oven. Neither of us have ever used a convection oven so it was touch and go pretty much.
Instructions on the back
I originally got to try all 3 mixes: Traditional, Wholey Wheat, and Spelt.

Spelt: This was the first one I tried to bake with Jen. It was easy to mix, according to the instructions. I already had everything so that wasn't a problem. Letting it rise 45 minutes twice wasn't hard either. When it came to baking it, I think we left it in there a little too long. It says bake for only 25 minutes. I think we left it there for 30. The bottom and sides were burnt, but it was still delicious! It had a sweet taste from the honey and crunch from the nuts. Even Jen, who didn't mind me first burnt try at challah bread, gave Tribes-A-Dozen two thumbs up!
Traditional- hot and fresh out of the oven!
Traditional: I am happy to report that the traditional did NOT come out burnt! I knew exactly what to expect and read the directions very carefully, especially that baking time. It was crunchy and melted in my mouth. I love fresh baked bread and I couldn't help but steal pieces as I was making dinner. Yummy!

Wholey Wheat: We haven't baked this one, as we are waiting closer to Christmas. We haven't decided yet, but if we go over to my grandmother's for Christmas Eve, I might take this loaf over there for them to enjoy.

I wonder if I can convince the family to make challah bread a yearly tradition for our family. It sure is delicious and easy with Tribes-A-Dozen!
