I don't know if I've told you before, but I am of Irish descent so when it comes to anything that shows a leprechaun or shamrock, I am all over it like the wool of a sheep. Even more so, I like card games. I remember playing- or at least trying to play- poker with my dad when I was younger. So when I found out I would be getting to try out Paddy O'Shea's Golf Card Game, the Irish in me said "Woohoo!" while the card game player in me wondered what the heck a golf card game was. Luckily for me, they also had rules on the website so I was able to sort of learn the game before I even received it.
So what exactly is Paddy O'Shea's Golf Card Game? It is essentially a game of luck and skill, where you try to have the lowest score through each of the 9 holes (just like regular golf).
Since I had NEVER played any golf card game, Twin and I decided to learn the rules a little more as we played. Unbeknownst to me, I had totally messed up the first 9 holes. We got down to the last card, and I realized we had 1 more hole left after this card but we didn't have any more cards to flip over! No point in going back and starting the whole game over, right? We decided to start a second game, and we did much better this time. In fact, we had matching totals. Because we didn't understand what to do if players had matching totals, we did a "who has the lowest card value" and for at least 2 draws, we both had matching cards again!
And can I just say how fun it is to pull out a Joker (worth -2 points), a Mulligan (worth 0 points), and a 19th hole card (worth -5 points)?
