Go green with Solar Christmas Lights! {Review + Giveaway}

Fact time- Did you know that you can actually save money by using solar lights for the inside of your home as well as outside? Since solar lights don't require plugs, thus not using any energy, you save money! But when it comes to Christmas, you want something that won't run up your electric bill but still look very pretty. Why not go solar?

At Outdoor Solar Store, they have all of your outdoor solar light needs! If you are looking to light up your garden or even front porch, they have you covered! I've always loved the look of lamp posts, but without the proper hook up, we don't have one. But Outdoor Solar Store actually has solar lamp posts, like the Windsor Solar Lamp Post Planter, which actually has a planter at the bottom for your pretty flowers! Not a gardener? Don't worry, they also have the pretty Pagoda Solar Lamp Post - Double!

GardenGlo
For a unique way to feature your plants, try the GardenGlo Solar Planter! Just put your plants in and watch them glow at night! You have a variety of colors to choose from, including Lemon, Frost, Green, Stone, and Terra Cotta.

Since we don't have any porch lights, it's pretty dark in the front. So if you're like us and have a flag, you can still light up that glorious flag with one of their two Flag lights. You have your choice of Liberty Light- Solar Flag Light (for residential use) and Professional Solar Flag Light.

When you do start decorating for Christmas? Since on Thanksgiving we always take a trip out of town to Nature in Lights (Google that and you'll see what I mean!), we tend to decorate the first of November. Instead of running up the light bill with all those strands of lights, why not consider getting solar Christmas lights? Not only are they much safer and economical, but they're a breeze to put up! Choose between Warm White- String, Multi-Color- String, Warm White-Net, White Icicle, and Warm White rope solar lights!

Of course, they have other great solar lights available so go check them out!

BUY
You can purchase the Multi-Color Solar Christmas Lights - String starting at $19.00.

WHAT I THOUGHT
Because of an electrical issue last year around Christmas, we have decided to go the safe route this year and try solar. So when I found out I would be trying out the Multi-Color Solar Christmas Lights - String, I was jumping for joy! I get excited about Christmas, especially when it comes to decorating.
Solar Panel

They were so easy to set up! I pretty much just read the instructions through once (The instructions were so simple to understand), and went outside to install the lights. All I had to do was put the stake down, put the cylinder that holds the solar panel onto the stake, and then put the solar panel onto the cylinder. Pull the protective sheet off the solar panel and away we go! I wrapped the lights around the porch trellis, which was more simple than previous years! With regular Christmas lights, the strand would get caught on everything (Including me!), making it difficult to wrap the lights. But it was such a breeze, I was done in less than 5 minutes. Easy peasy! The short strand made for easy decorating, especially for the short trellis. Most lights are so long, I have to find a place for the rest of them to go. I played around with the Steady or Flash button, and I liked Steady better- otherwise it just seems so dark if they flash.
Pretty pretty pretty!

PAbout 8pm, when it was dark, and I went outside and saw the lights glowing! They were much more vibrant than normal lights. The colors were so, well, colorful. I'm sure people driving by the house thought I was out of my gourd  for hanging Christmas lights in October. LOL

Yep, we're going green with solar Christmas lights this year!

  1. I really like the solar spotlights (http://www.outdoorsolarstore.com/solar-powered-spot-lights.aspx). Currently we do not have any lighting for our driveway, and it's something we haven't tackled because of the wiring involved. Solution? A solar spotlight! Just stick it in the ground or mount on the side of the house and, boom, done! :)
