Manna Organics Review & Giveaway

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

If you can't tell by all the food reviews I've been doing, I've been trying to get my family to eat a lot healthier, which includes organics. My family loves bread, but it's not very nutritious and not healthy at all.

With Manna Organics, healthy bread can now be an everyday food. With signature Manna Organics Sprouted Bread, Bavarian-style sourdough breads, gluten-free bread, trail mixes, and even bulk organic ingredients, you have no reason not to have healthy but delicious food. Even better, they are USDA Organic certified- so you know you're getting truly organic bread!

So what exactly is Sprouted Breads? Made from sprouted organic grain, the sprouts are ground up and formed in cake-like loaves. The topping depends on which flavor you want! You no longer have to choose between multi-grain or whole-grain. Their line of Sprouted Bread flavors include Banana Walnut Hemp, Carrot Raisin, Cinnamon Date, Fig, Fennel & Flax, Fruit & Nut, Millet Rice, Multi-Grain, Sunseed, and Whole Rye. Each loaf is free of salt, oils, sweeteners, or leavening agents!

If you're on a gluten-free diet, then try some of their Gluten-Free Breads! They are Vegan, Kosher, and organic friendly! You don't even have to worry about trying to slice them- they are already sliced for your convenience. You have your choice of Gluten Free Ancient Grains, Gluten Free Ciao Chia, Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin, Gluten Free Open Sesame, Gluten Free Original, and Gluten Free Sampler.

Fan of sourdough? You can bet they have some for you! You have your choice of Multi-Frain Flax Sourdough, Sunny Sourdough, Bavarian Rye Sourdough. They are yeast-free and sliced as well.

Believe it or not, they even have Organic Trail Mix! If you love raw organic food, then the Organic Classic Trail Mix (Raw) is your best bet. All mixtures are fresh, naturally sweentened, and raw to that will keep you going all day or night! WHAT I THOUGHT
As I've said, I'm trying to get my family to eat healthier bread with organic. So I couldn't wait to try Manna Organics because I knew it would be a treat.

After about 2 hours in the fridge, I was ready to try them! Of course, I couldn't help but let Twin and Mom help me out with the review.

Multi-Grain
Fruit & Nut (Sprouted)- I found it to definitely be cake-like. It was sweet, kind of tasting like those holiday fruit cakes everyone hates. But since I like good fruit cake, I loved the Fruit & Nut bread! You can definitely taste the nuts and fruit pieces studded in there. Even Dad, who hates fruit cake, loved it! That one didn't last long- it was that good.

Carrot Raisin (Sprouted)- It was very sweet. If you eat a lot at once, it can be a little too sweet, but it was still good. It was a little sticky (meaning that it would literally stick the plate). The raisins were the main thing that I could taste. I really couldn't taste the carrot, but it had a carrot cake texture. I think it would be great for breakfast or dessert!

Carrot Raisin
Bavarian Rye Sourdough- I loooooooove sourdough! When we go to the Jack In The Box, I get the Sourdough Jack everytime. That's how much I love it. I did find that after a few hours in the fridge, it did turn a little dry. But once I used it as a sandwich with tomatoes, I didn't notice the dryness. It is also great for grilled cheese! Just don't put butter on the bread. I did that once and it totally took away from the sourdough flavor. The rye seeds make for a great crunch, which is wonderful for those sandwiches.

Multi-Grain (Sprouted)- It was a little more dense and moist than the other Sprouted Breads. But I was able to get past that because I could taste the flavors with each bite. You know it's healthy for you, but it doesn't taste like some healthfood does. It was delicious and not salty at all!
