The non-excitement of a hospital!

It all started on New Year's Day when I had a small bump near my shoulder. It didn't hurt, except when I hit it. But it kept getting more swollen, sore, and red. So we went to one hospital last night and spent 2 hours in the emergency waiting room, and hadn't seen a doctor. The person at the desk said they wouldn't know when I would go back. We weren't going to wait all night so we came home and decided to go into another hospital and I went back to a room within 20 minutes!

To spare you the boring details, besides the woman jamming small needle into my veins, it turned out that it is only Cellulitis, so I was prescribed 2 antibiotics and a pain medication.I only need to go back tomorrow morning if it's worse, which I will have to be in the hospital for a few days while they pump me full of antibiotics. Otherwise, I have to go for a check up in a few days.

And since I'll be taking all of this medication, I will try to schedule posts today and tomorrow so they make sense. If I have to be hospitalized, I will try to post from my hospital room- that is if Twin lets me! I don't think I have to be hospitalized, but we will see!

  1. Yeah..you just reconfirmed your blogs name...if you are in the hospital...take the time to heal...not blog! Hope you heal quickly.

  2. If it's real big, they probably should have lanced it. I get them all the time...I mean, huge golfball size to softball sized ones, depending on where they are. Antibiotics have never worked for mine...but then again, I've had them for over 25 years so I'm probably resistant. They certainly aren't any fun and depending on their location...can be extremely painful. Hope the antibiotics work for you. Get better soon.

  3. Olivia,

My family has already told me that if I have to be hospitalized that I CANNOT blog, unless it's only one post to let everyone know what is going on... What can I say, I tend be a workaholic. LOL Thank you for the well wishes!

  5. michedt,

The doctor has told me that it was a swollen lymph node and that it was nothing drainable. But where it's located (armpit crook on the INSIDE) makes it super painful and easy to hit! I hit it on the door frame of the bathroom door and I let out a string of expletives. Everyone knew exactly what happened.

But I am glad to know that someone has something similar and can feel my pain!

Thank you for the well wishes!
