WHAT I THOUGHT
I'll be honest- I love pasta but I've never had authentic Italian pasta. So when I found out I would be reviewing the Primo Pasta Gourmet Gift Basket, it was hard to contain my excitement! As I perused their website, I couldn't help but notice how organized it was! If you were looking for something specific, the categories made it super easy!

Now, the day it arrived, I was lying in bed, watching the local news. Mom walks in and asks if I wanted to get my package from the front porch. Since she's usually the one who checks the mail and brings in any packages, I was surprised. As I walked out the front door, I noticed this HUGE box taking up at least 1/4 of the porch. I opened to the box to find this gorgeously packaged gift basket!

A few things I recognized- like the risotto, garlic paste, anchovy paste, tomato paste, gnocchi, and the pasta sauce. The other stuff included pasta and other items imported directly from Italy. Since it was about 2pm and I hadn't eaten breakfast OR lunch, I put the "minute" risotto in the microwave. It was so delicious! A little salty for my taste, but for my first taste of risotto, I give it 2 thumbs up!

That night, I made a dish from one of the 3 recipe cards that came with it. I don't cook often, so I went with the easiest. With Twin beside me, we cooked the Potato Gnocchi with Creamy Tomato-Porcini Sauce. But we didn't have Porcini available so we used shitake mushrooms. The recipe was so easy to follow, even for non-cooks like me. Talk about yummy! I didn't take a picture because I don't know how to photograph food to make it look appetizing.

I still have some pasta and pesto left so tonight, I'm making pesto pasta! Considering this was our first time having true Italian pasta, I don't know how we could have gone this long without trying it!
