Get your clean on with 20 Mule Team Borax! (Review & Giveaway)

Everyone has probably heard of Borax at some point in their lives, whether it was their grandparents, parents, or even friends have probably talked about it.

20 Mule Team Borax is 100% natural mineral found from the earth. Once removed from the ground, it is washed, dried, and boxed for us customers. Borax is the common name for sodium tetraborate: a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes.

20 Mule Team Borax can be used as a laundry booster, remove stains, a multi-purpose household cleaner, and even treat hard water. Hard water actually affects your laundry because some of the compounds attach to calcium and magnesium granules (which is defined as "hard water") that settle on the bottom of your washing machine, eventually retreating down the drain without actually cleaning your close. What a waste of detergent, if you ask me! It's even gentle enough for baby, teenage, and delicate clothing!

Now, you're probably wondering about those multi-purpose household cleaning. Used mostly in the kitchen and bathroom, 20 Mule Team Borax can be used to clean your refrigerator, garbage disposals, and toilet bowls. Need to clean your garbage cans and garbage disposals? You can even use it for that.

20 Mule Team Borax seems to be such a multi-purpose tool for all of your laundry and cleaning needs!

You can find 20 Mule Team Borax on Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube.

WHAT I THOUGHT

I am always looking for more natural products to use since my family has become a little allergic to generic laundry detergents like Sun. Also since my family suffers from allergies and I from a lung condition, chemicals tend to make them worse. But I've heard of Borax for the longest time, so I was anxious to try out 20 Mule Team Borax.

Toilet Bowl- Nothing is nastier than a unclean toilet bowl. But since I didn't really want to scrub a toilet bowl in almost 100* heat (We don't have central air), I just sprinkled plenty of Borax and let it sit for an hour or so. After an hour, I flushed and it came out pretty clean! It didn't exactly clean the whole bowl (since I didn't scrub) but I think within the next day or so, I'll get out the scrub brush and finish it up with a little more Borax.

Laundry- According to a USGS water-quality map (and other maps I've come across), we live in a hard water area. So it stands to reason why if we don't use fabric softener with every load, our clothes come out feeling like sandpaper. So when it came time to do laundry, I put a little in with a load of our favorite clothes and normal laundry detergent. Guess what? Our clothes came out super soft! I couldn't tell if the clothes were any cleaner than normal, but they were definitely softer and smelled fresh!

Crafting- Now, I haven't done this yet because I am saving it for the Holidays, but you can actually use 20 Mule Team Borax for Borax Goop/Slime, Borax Snowflake, and even just Borax Crystals! I might make the Borax Snowflakes (and maybe other Holiday symbols) this Christmas season!

20 Mule Team Borax has so many different uses, I had no idea!
