WHAT I THOUGHT:
I've been a fan of Laura DeLuca's novels for quite a while. Ever since I read her first book, Destiny Unveiled, I was hooked. So imagine my surprise when I was asked to read and review In Perfect Harmony (Jersey Girls 2). (Read our review of Falling Star, the first of the Jersey Girls series.)
Erin, a conservative and ambitious pagan woman who is left to raise her son, Nate, alone because of her ex-boyfriend, is starting to feel like she can maybe she can start dating again. So she decides to give online dating a try.
Ravi, a Buddhist musician, moves to New Jersey to start his life anew because he couldn't handle the grief of losing his family. His past seems to be haunting him with every turn - alcoholism, and the death of his loved ones. Because his sister thought he should start dating again, she signs him up for an online dating site, and when he does a search of girls in the area just to please his sister, he finds that Erin (whom he had met previously in Woody's, the bar he will be playing regularly at), is on the website as well and they try to start a relationship.
But Erin's mother, who is stuck up and very close-minded, doesn't want Erin dating Ravi because of the color of his skin. Why should her daughter date an Indian when there are plenty of white men available? But Erin loves Ravi so much, it doesn't matter to her. So Mrs. Conway decides to get her private investigator to do some digging. What she finds horrifies Erin. Can they make it without crumbling under Ravi's past?
The love scenes were not too detailed, which I tend to like in a romance novel. I don't need to know exact details. Ravi sounded so sexy I want to date him myself!
I loved it all. What more can I say? (Maybe this single girl should try online dating!)
You can purchase In Perfect Harmony (A Jersey Girls Novel Book 2) on Amazon. It is available on the Kindle and in paperback.
